I've been sanding and painting parts as I strip down the bike.
The tank now has four coats on it and is coming along well.

I'll give it two more before looking at pinstripping it and painting the Indian logo.

The toolbox and battery box each have six coats on them and are ready for detailing.
Although I'll let them sit of a couple of days for the paint to cure fully.

Both the brake and clutch levers have come up nicely in gloss black.
I've left the rubbers on both flat black.
I'm really happy with the footplates but I'll take the rubbers from satin to matt.
Since the photo was taken they've all been given another two coats and are drying at the moment.

I've also given the seat springs and support their first coats this morning.
At the moment I'm trying to find two small brass wing nuts to go on top of the battery box.
If I don't have any luck I'll just have to make some.

    Cheers
    Trev.

I painted the parts of the rear brake yesterday.
The overall colour of the brake is gloss black.
But I wonted to get the pads on the bands to stand out so I've painted them a metallic grey.

I also painted the surface of the brake that the bands run on a light silver/grey to give it a polished metal look.
All of the parts have dried enough that I'm putting them together at the moment.

It looks as if it's working well (or maybe I've just had to much coffee)
    Either way daylight will tell!

    Cheers
    Trev.

The extra effort has been well worth it. Those little touches say a lot about the maker (that's a positive, not a negative).

This morning (early) I put a 3mm pinstripe on the battery box and added the Indian logo.
It needs to dry completely before I clean up the edges and clear coat it.

The rear brakes are getting reassembled and looking pretty good.

I had a great day today working on the Indian.
Well that's minus a hiccup with the petrol tank.
I had it sitting in the sun this morning and noticed a bit of a sway in the top of it.
So I striped the top of and put down a new surface.

I took a couple of pictures of the battery box back in the bike.
I'm really happy with it hopefully the clear coat goes on well.

I've painted the springs and support for the seat as well.

I gave the toolbox a couple more coats as well.
It will get the same treatment as the battery box in the next day or so.

This was the way the tank looked at 1 o'clock by 3 it was back in the frame.
Tomorrow I think I'll paint the rim and hub of the rear wheel.
There's a few dings in the rim that need to be knocked out.

    Cheers

But that sounds like real metalwork Trev!
Heaven forbid that the rims aren't made of MDF, poly pipe or filler!

    Craig
Forty years later and the teachers still giving me grief.
And yes Craig the spell check did have to catch that there's an "I" in grief for me.
I can still hear the teacher "Just sound it out Trevor"
Well I'm sorry you can sound it out until the cow's come home there's NO damn "I" in greef!
Meet, Street, Feet, Greet, Greef! How in the blue blazes can that be wrong

Not to mention the report card from my woodworking teacher saying: Trevor shows no aptitude and needs to apply himself more!

Funny thing is as I've gotten older I realise the teachers had no hope with me.
    They did their best.
    Square pegs, round holes!

Who would of thought (there's a word try sounding that one out) all these years later a mate of mines a teacher.
    Go figure.

We should try and catch up when I'm heading home from Dave's on or about the 4th Nov.
It would be great to see you mate

    Cheers
    Trev.

A nice easy day today I gave the rear brake another couple of coats.
Painted the rim of the rear wheel, pinstriped the toolbox and added the logo.

Painting the rim was no trouble but masking all those spokes off was pain to say the least.
Then when it's done your sitting there for ever getting it all off again.
    Still job done.

The toolbox is looking good, like the battery box I'll let it dry well and truly before I clear coat it.
I had a good find at the recyclers, those small wing nuts I was looking for.
Old Hill's TV ariels say no more

    Cheers

Painting before the spokes go in is easier

May have to get you to do some pin striping for me

Maybe I could improve on that C-
