Trevor
This has been a quite a journey watching this build. Now to put this in perspective, from the day you have started this build to the time that you have just about finished I have moved houses two times and if I was to include the time you joined the forum it would be three times. The detail that you have placed in this build has been truly remarkable.
If you would indulge me a little and cast your mind back to the Blue Mountain Get Together at FenceFurniture place where I was fortunate to meet you in person. A topic came up about things we make, you were a little quiet about your previous builds. Not that uncommon when you think about it for most people.
I am glad that you mention the ABC and also glad that I was able to locate it. The more that we learn not only from one another but also about one another the more enriched our lives become.
This happens by means of our conversations from the threads that we create and the replies we post. So I have learned a little bit more about our community on the forum.
Thank you

Apart from finishing off some of the details of the Indian, I've started building the carriers for the stand.
I'm hoping that it will work much like a bicycle rack, but with both wheels being held in place.
I've wielded up the front carrier and it seems to fit quite well.
I'll finish wielding up the rear today and then bolt them to the stand base.
Hopefully the two carriers will hold the Indian in place so that it can be transported.
The only thing that maybe a problem is the lateral movement of the bike.
If it does wont to sway from side to side to much I'll add a supporting brace up to the sidecar mount (under the saddle just behind the tank).
That should hold the bike in place pretty well.
I've still got a week until Jerilderie, but I must admit I should have started modifying the stand much sooner.
I'm not leaving myself much room for the inevitable "Ooops that didn't work quite the way I thought" moment!.
Cheers
Trev.

I got a fair way with the stand yesterday.
Both of the carriers are now made, and I've bolted the front one to the base.
I made the two carries the same originally.
But I had to modify the rear one to fit in under the bikes actual stand and the rear brake arms.
Still it all seems to be working at the moment.
I'll bolt the rear carrier in place and then add the support arm, which will connect to the bike under the seat.
Hopefully that will be enough to keep the bike safe and sound while it's being moved around.
Cheers
Trev.

Damn I was too slow. It just dawned on me you don't need a stand. I got a nice heavy chain and could have chained it to the front veranda.
Nice job Trev. Weekend not far away now

The sidecar mounting point under the seat should be the ideal lateral support point. I had a sidecar attached to my Chief at that location, it was solid as a rock!
By the by, the 'Four' you built is the best looking Indian model I have ever seen, or any motorcycle model for that matter!!
Can't wait to join the Brough Superior ride!
Good luck and cheers, PeterLast edited by Big Shed; 12th July 2017 at 11:05 AM.

Not long to go at all Cowboy.
Come to think of it I should pretty much be there this time next Saturday!.
Just a tip if was you I wouldn't worry to much about chaining the Indian on the front veranda.
I'll be in town for a few days so if I was you I'd be chaining that Bandsaw up mate.
Thanks Peter that's really nice of you to say.
I've spent the morning crossing off a list a small detailing things I need to finish.
I was going to work on the stand, but I gave myself a slight dose of arch eye yesterday (ouch)
Your right about the sidecar mounting point it's as solid as rock all right.
My son had a good suggestion, he thought maybe go into the back for the bar behind the mount.
That way your less inclined to damage the paint work while moving the bike around.
Not a bad idea I reckon.
Anyway back to it.
Thanks Guy's
Trev.
