A new addition to the shed.
Bought this on Tuesday and it arrived today, could have bought a bench top model for half the price but with room, noise and the fact that I don’t do too many large projects I opted for this little beauty. Had a bit of a play and I like it, nice finish, very little noise, doesn’t throw shavings everywhere and the fact I can mount it on a board and clamp to my bench when needed is an added bonus.

G,day Peter, it’s a Proxxon Thicknesser, DH40, it’s the only one they do, I purchased it from Hobby Tools Australia for Dremel and Proxxon Tools, Photo Etch Tools, Paasche and Badger Airbrushes
Price was $1199 plus freight $18.95.
cheers
Glenn.

I’m gradually getting the tools I’ve wanted for sometime, today I picked up a Sorby Pro Edge Deluxe to sharpen my wood turning tools and other woodworking tools. Like most blokes couldn’t wait to have a crack so this afternoon all my turning tools have been either reshaped and sharpened or just sharpened.
I have to say this machine is a pleasure to use, solidly built and looks like it will be a most welcome addition to the workshop. Knowing now that I can quickly touch up my tools with repeatable angles and results will make my turning much more pleasurable. I read some of the earlier reviews and it would appear Sorby have made some subtle changes which make removing the belt guard very quick and simple, plus there now appears to be a sighting slot on the guard for the rear tilt adjusting fastener.
