Arcade Machine
Hi All,
I live in Melbourne East and was wondering if anyone know somewhere I can get this cut in MDF?
I am a computer geek so not very experienced in wood working stuff
Do you think if I buy a piece of MDF from Bunnings and draw the plan on it. Will Bunnings cut this?
If anyone is interested, I am willing to help them build one for their cutting service

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "quacka",
Most Bunnings in the Sydney area wouldn't do that sort of cutting for you especially MDF.
From what I think I saw in your drawings you might be best to seek out a local cabinet making shop or kitchen making shop to do the cuts for you.
Looking forward to seeing you project unfold.
Cheers, crowie

I called up Bunnings Vermont South. They said they don't even cut MDF as the dust particle is too dangerous. I was thinking if they can cut all teh straight part and I find a jigsaw and cut the curves.
Anyway, sorry I pasted the same image link twice. This is what it suppose to look like when it is finished.

A simple solution would be to buy a cheap ($30) jigsaw to do the side parts with the curves, and get bunnies to do all the rest from 16mm MDF. This will be fairly heavy, though; 16mm ply would be lighter, but that wont give you a smooth finish without a lot of work. I'd be really tempted (since it seems to be a tabletop unit) drop the thickness to 10mm MDF.
PROTIP: The blades with cheap jigsaws tend to be rubbish, and should be replaced by at least a semi-decent brand such as Bosch.
And make sure the monitor cutout fits the screen you will be using!

You could try approaching a local woodworking club to see if they can help you. Maybe one of their members can.
If you cut the mdf, be sure to wear a mask.
