    Default Bunk beds

I haven't been able to do much in the last few months (wife unwell, really busy at work etc) but I did manage to get this bunk bed finished for a birthday present. It took me a week from start to finish (doing a little each day before and after work)

They are approximately 1/4 scale (50 cm long) made of pine, pine ply and stained. All the joints are dowelled. There are about 75 parts to each bed (154 all up) The two beds can be separated. Short locating dowels in the top of the posts on the bottom bunk keep them together.

I tend to over engineer what I make and I am glad I do. The little girl's parents said that the older sister often tries to sit in it!!! she is nearly 3.... I always figured that they might try and stand in it (does that too)

I have another one to do for Christmas.. this one will be all mortice and tenon... (if I can find the time).

I must say it is good to be back doing stuff in wood again.

    Cheers,

    Chipman
