Castle Doll’s House
Construction is mostly meranti with other, more easily carved, timbers for details (Lilly-pilly andAfrican olive). The basic box structures that make up the construction have been shaped with rasps and coarse abrasives before inlaying and carving the surface details with knives and carving tools.
The whole structure has been sealed with wiped on polyurethane and painted with water soluble artist's oils, burnt Sienna, yellow ochre, cadmium yellow, black and titanium white. Some acrylic ink colour also used on some details.
The castle base is on a lazy Susan and the spiral staircase is hinged for more access to the tower interior.

Thank you, I envisaged re-doing this as a step-by-step tutorial as I think with instruction most woodworkers would be able to manage the project. It would be a long project but doable. Making the instructional material would be a massive task but when the time becomes available I am keen to do it.
