No Yonnee i brought that on special at super cheap $10 so i got 1 but when i was buying mine another guy came in and brought another saying he had jacked up a diahatsu charade with it some people got no brains. Well today i sandblasted all the parts for the rod with a sandblasting unit a guy at work brought and lent it to me to use as long as i want so all the diff, gearbox, radiator etc fitted well but the chassis was twice the size of the unit so i had half hanging out but finally got it all done. Next i applied the epoxy primer to all the parts and will let cure for a few days before applying the bog.

Thanks Kryn, I wish i could afford the real thing but thats why im building the model instead its the next closet thing just cant drive it unlease i put in a rc motor but im happy building this and i want to try to get more involve in body shaping so lets see were it leads to. Over the last 4 days ive started the bog work on the gearbox, diff, radiator, bug catcher and blower. It has been very teediest work but its looking good. Last night i decided to add the spare wheel to the rear of the body. While i was there i knocked up up bottle holder as well.

That be right i finished typing all my post in and site crashed now have to do all over again. Well as i was saying been busy around house, busy at work, doing sons project, and spending 3 day at hospital with son for his appendix i finally got some time yesterday so i started by drilling a hole in the steering column and mounting a blinker arm then soldered it in as well as the steering wheel. Next i moved onto the heads which are made from wood so i decided to replace with metal ones.
So i cut out 2 rectangles of metal and bent them up in the folder, next i traced out the ends and cut out and welded in position. Next i marked and drilled the spark plug holes and soldered the brass fittings. Oh i i machined up a coil out of 316 stainless tube and made up a brass mounting bracket but still have to drill and mount to firewall. Next i did a mock up of the spark plug leads to see how they are going to look.

Hi Scotty,
Every time I look in I am totally amazed at what your doing. I cannot wait to see the finished product. What's your background, experience and inspiration? You seem to be covering every aspect of metalworking.
Watching with interest and awe.

Thanks Ben,
Im a spraypainter, panelbeater by trade so that helps me out, Today i finished off the motor, gearbox and radiator looks like a snow fall,
IMG_8898a.jpgIMG_8899a.jpg next i started on the chassis. I have decided a colours the body will be a satin finish off white as per photo and the motor will be hemi orange with silver accesories, blower, exhaust, pulleys and exhaust and interior hopefully like photo also.
