Yesterday i cut and fabricated an alternator. Got the shaft glued in and mounted to motor. I also made the pulleys for alternator and water pump.I also cleaned the carbs and blower in rust converter.
Today i got stuck into mounting the alternator and pulleys then cutting a new blower belt and mounting. Next was the steering arm which i cut and soldered ends on and bolted to the steering. Next i remade the distributor cap and drilled because i lost it when i took to work.
Wow you've been very busy Scotty.
Most excellent.
Top photos of the small details.
Cheers, Crowie
The progress on this is amazing, such detail and great WIP. All this and not working off a plan is incredible. I am sure this would get heaps of attention at car shows. Keep those pics coming Scotty:2tsup::2tsup:
Thanks for the comments Crowie and John,
This afternoon i bent up some brass rod and made the fuel lines from the carbys to the main fuel line. Next i started to make the fuel line mounting brackets after i charged up my cordless drill. LOL. These wont be mounted till after the chassis is painted and the final detail is being done.
Good to see that you might be inspired to make a truck for your next project, I love your current project of course, that goes without saying. Man I aint got that much patience.
If you give me a size and a rough idea of what you want, I will be happy to look at supplying you with some timber wheels for your truck.
Phil
Thanks Phil for your comments and for your offer i will let you know when im ready. I have had different ideas going through my head already on how and what i can use to make things with and looking at different pics on style of truck. I was thinking of using the same as the wheels as the rod but i think yours would look way better. I will be building it around the same size as the rod of approx 750mm long.
Cheers
G'Day Scotty,
I was thinking last night that I haven't seen any updates from Scotty for a while
and thought I best check up when it was I last saw a post on the Rat Rod.
Wow it's been over a month!
I hope all is well with you Scotty.
Apologies if I'm being too nosey and chasing you up.
Cheers, Crowie
Crowie and I must be on the same wavelength!
How's it going Scotty??
Thanks for your concern Crowie and Artme, Ive been too busy at work starting early and finishing late for the past month so i havent had time to even go into the garage. To top things off i had a fall at work  last monday night which could have ended up quite serious or even fatal for me but i manage to hold onto the peice of glass which was 2800x1400 in size when i tripped over a pallet a fell on my back, fighting with it to keep it from hitting the floor and breaking coming straight down on top of me. Luckly i only ended up with a big bruise on the back of my leg and strained muscles in my arms, neck and back.
I did spend some time in garage today cleaning up and doing a few more things on the truck.
And whats been going on here since ive been gone theres toys being produced everywhere which is great to see :2tsup::2tsup:
G'Day Scotty,
Sorry to hear of the work mishap, but very happy to hear that you're all good [so to speak].
There have been some great "toy making" posts in the past month, so as you have a little time off to mend, you'll see them for yourself.
Too much work and not enough play isn't any good for anyone.
Get well soon and look after yourself.
Cheers, Crowie
That could have been real nasty Scotty, you were lucky mate.Pleased to hear you escaped a serious injury.:2tsup:
Glad you are ok Scotty.
I am overawed at your ingenuity. Keep inspiring us.
Pete
Phew Scotty and Phew again!! Bloody lucky I shudder to think what might have been!
How's it going Scotty.
All mended or still in recovery.
Miss seeing your brilliant handy-work, mate.
Hoping all's well.
Cheers, Crowie
