this is the front axle with the sand bands and shows the iron axle it's 5/16 th by 6'' long drill a 3/16'' hole in the ends so as to solder a 3/16th all thread. then file the axle as shone in the pic make your u bolts out of 22 ga steel cut a small notch in the end the size of the hacksaw just a 1/8 th'' deep then tap a 1/6th by 3/4 '' long bolt in the slot of the steel then selver solder in it use selver solder flucks heat it so it's red then the solder will folw and should be milk like in color if its red it may brake or be brettle. it don't take much solder or flucks if you over do it then you just have to clean it up with a file. hope this is of some help...

this is the reach the 3 pices is 12 and 5/16th long, by 5/8 '' by 3/8 th the front and back header is 6 1/2'' by 5/16'' thick and 5/8'' wide, the front is 5/16'' thick by 7/8ths wide theu have a curve so give your salf a little room so you have the wood, and you want to use maple or birch for your gear, and framing, so it stays in place never use pine, theres so much time in one of thses don't wast it for saveing or useing soft wood. you can do what you like, but that's just my thought and it's your time.... the joints you will use Mortise and Tenon joints....
