Gary, can you tell me more on how you made your wheels..cut the fellows and put spoke to fellows and hub and glue it all up etc etc

lol thanks eskimo, that's hard to show i do it just like a wheel wright would in a way if you have a lathe your better off than i was the frist 5 wagons i made i dident have one so i used my drill press to spin the hub i would drill with a hole saw and cut 1 1/4'' plug out of a 7/8'' board and glue 2 togather then run a 1/4'' all thread through it then spin it and use a rasp...but for the last year i have a lathe and that makes it way ez just need to learn to sharpen my tools i tryed to make the spoks on the lathe but it works better one at a time by hand the felloes i cut out on the band saw then use a sanding drum to clean them up and true.. you need to lay out your circle 6 and 5/8'' for the back and 5 and 1/4'' on the front then you need 7 felloes on the back wheel and 6 on the front lay out your wheel in i think 2 and 3/8'' on the back wheel and the same on the front this is in the ball park as they say i make a templet out of one felloe thats true, then cut a strait grean board most wheels or 1/4'' wide to 3/8'' or even 1/2'' make it 1 and 1/2'' wide then trace your felloe on that and cut them out.. there will be 14 spokes on the back and 12 on the front.. i hope this helps

frist i soke the wood so it's wet all the way through then i put it in the jig ....

this is the frist ones all reddy dry you can see the curve in the wood and the rest in the jig clamped and drying....

this shows the iron work that holds the driver boot and you can see thr foot well and the keeper that holds the lather through straps in place there well be a metal plate on this part for wear .....

this is a form i use to bend the wood for the ends and sides i use a 1/8'' pice and it takes 5 times to get it to bend 2 ways i use spring clamps all around it i think theres a photo on here showing a pice clamped in it this way i get the front and back at the same time...

this is the back side of the form you need these cleats so your clamps don't slip....
