G'Day & Welcome Brian,
The tools look great.
I purchased the Norm Marshall books with that toy plan from Amazon UK.
Am still waiting for the postman to deliver, maybe this week.
Who are the toys for?
Are you going to give them a coat of colour/paint?
You'll find all sorts of toys with many levels of experience on the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers "From On Top Down Under", Crowie

Thank you very much for your replies, not my idea RufflyRustic came with the plan it was just a quick bash when i was pondering what to do next,
Hi crowie,
the toys a mainly give away but if somebody wants to give me money for the wood well i just have to take it, it's just a hobby to try and keep the brain active and i love doing the toys,
I would love to give them a coat of colour or paint but being a new starter i have no idea where to start, i thought of staining them also painting them but how is a BIG question for me any advice would be very very welcome, I have seen some of your toys on the site and i am very impressed your paint work looks brilliant and i will like very much if you pass me some idvise to get me going, i saw Dancing Clock on site done by David Hauck and i thought is work including the painting was also brilliant,
Brian.

G'Day Again Brian,
The animated toys are bloody fantastic.
Some of the patterns must have come from the "How to make Animated Toys" book.
I agree whole heartedly with you on the joys of making the toys to give away; though a little recompense for the cost of the timber occasionally does help.
My darling wife or my daughters normally help with the colours to paint the toys but generally they are all just bright and out there.
I've also used some "tung oil" on a couple of plain nice grained timber toys plus I've got a small selection of prestained clear finishes.
I'll just be looking forward to seeing more of your great work as inspiration.
Cheers, Crowie

Brian,
I love the animated toys. I'll have to find a plan for one of them for my grand-son (2 year old). I reckon he will love it.
