Absolutely no apologies needed Rob! lol. Very good of you to share so much detail in the description and pictures. Between your assembly plans earlier in the thread, the box dimensions and all these pics, I reckon I could knock up some dimensions and maybe do a plan in CAD.
Like you, I'm busy with other things right now, but if/when I get there I'll be sure to post them up.
Thanks again!

Planes, Trains and tree houses
Hi readers,
I've been busy again after a few months off. I sold a big 7 level Tree house the other day so I was inspired to make another.
This one is a little smaller and cheaper than the last one so should sell quicker.
Included here today are a couple of trains and a DC3 I've just finished after it was sitting for months gathering dust.

Dc 3
A few more pictures of the DC3 after a paint job and an oiling. It's all Red Cedar. These pictures don't do the timber justice.
I think I might enter this one in the Noosa Country Show Woodcraft section in a couple of weeks.
I'm one of the Stewards so I should put something in to be judged I suppose.
I'm putting on a display of my toys for sale at the Show as well. One of the reasons why I'm flat out like a lizard drinking at the moment.
I hope I sell a few things. I need a 25 mm belt sander.

More good stuphph from the wilds of Queensland!!!
Did you turn the fuselage of the DC3 on the lathe?
When I am a bit more organized - i.e I have completed SWMBO''S to do list-
I intend to do a post on turning fuselages.

No Turning
""Did you turn the fuselage of the DC3 on the lathe?""
Hi Artme,
No i didn't turn it.
I cut the fuselage from a piece of red cedar using a template I made from a picture.
It's all from scratch, there are no plans for this one.
The tail fin is part of the fuselage. Same principle I use on all my aircraft.
It was a labour of love, 2 years in the making. I'd do a bit of work on it when I got the urge.
I look forward to seeing your post on turned fuselages.
all the best in your endeavours

Wood chopping and crosscut saw
Hi fellow Woodies,
I was thinking of the Noosa Country Show I'll be attending this coming weekend and how every Aussie show has Wood Chopping Competitions.
So I put this little item together.
DSCF6530.JPG The base is Silky Oak , the frame is pine and the axe and saw are Black Bean, I think. But I'll stand corrected on that.

Securing the poles
Hi Dalboy ,
I drill holes in both ends of the support sticks / poles
using a drill the same width as bamboo BBQ skewers
then insert about a inch long piece of bamboo BBQ skewer ( bamboo is very strong )
leaving about 1/4 inch protruding at both ends of the support pole
I then drill 4 receiving holes in the floor of the tree house
glue and secure the poles.
I then rub pencil lead on the top of the 4 BBQ skewers on top of the poles
Position the next floor on top of the 4 posts
and gently rub the floor (with very small movements) the pencil mark from the skewers
onto the under side of the next floor
Remove the next floor and drill holes where the pencil marks have transferred
but not all the way through the floor
trim the BBQ skewers if too long
repeat for next 3 floors
bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour
last part is optional
all the best with your endeavors

Noosa Country Show 2013
After a big day yesterday setting up the stall and getting the exhibits judged by one of the Cooroora Woodworkers clubs more experienced members, we're now ready for the big day today and tomorrow.
I sold some toys yesterday while setting up, so that is good news.
It was not a big turn our for exhibits this year, I'll advertize it more frequently next year. Get the high school kids involved.
This is my first year as Steward so it's all a bit new.
It's a small show in a small town in rural Queensland run by enthusiastic community minded people. That describes nearly all of us doesn't it?
Here are a couple of pics of the displays. I have three areas. My toys, the woodcraft competition exhibits and the Cooroora woodworkers items for sale.
noosa 4.jpgThe woodcraft section..... between the school art displays and the bee keepers around the corner from the gardening section underneath the cake and bickies. Hmmmm cake!

Very old Doll house and furniture plans.
Hi Folks,
I came across these files years ago and had a go at making a few of the furniture items with some success.
I thought I'd pass them on to anyone who's interested in making some classic doll house furniture.
Note . The files are large so you can print out a better quality picture if you feel the need.

I found this which may help with some of the tree house builds if you ever need to cut twigs/branches in half.
