Now I've seen more photos, I don't think I have the words to adequately describe such a magnificent build.
Again Edwin...Beautiful craftsmanship with details that make it a prizing winning show piece in any competition or display.
    Well Done...
    Cheers, crowie

    Default Another Doll House

This is a house from the same plans as the other house, but with a added stair case , Higher rooms by 2ins each, and extra roof space to accomodate the further additions, like the dormer windows, the pics come out a lot lighter than the house is,it is meant to look like an old weathered house, these pics show how the house roof was built but I am not much good with a camera, more pics to follow,

    Cheers Edwin.

    Default A continuing Doll House

Thank you Stolzdm , Artme ,and Crowie, for the kind words.

A few more pics of the 2nd Doll house, showing the rooms and a front veiw when opened and how I made the roof,

The lead lights are made from pirspect and the leaded part from tubes of material actualy called lead light from most craft shops , the how to is, take a piece of flat smooth board ,mdf is good,
a stip of wood around the 4 sides about 1/8 inch higher than the top, draw the shape of leaded windows you want, squares or others, put the perspect on the top and tape down you don't want any movement place a ruler across the lines drawn and gently squeese tube along the line ,Plenty of Practise helps.

The tiles are made from any material you like cutting the strips to length make a jig
to cut the joins between each tile and allow the over laps,

all floors are strip wood, chimneys and colouring as first model,

    Cheers

    Edwin.

    Hi TKO,
    I am absolutely impressed.
Did you make the light fittings or are they available and how are thy powered up?
Some of your pictures look like views from Grand designs.
    Cheers

Now that I have seen the inside it makes it look more impressive. This is one great build (or should I say 2). You should be proud of these builds

Edwin, that is absolutely amazing work.
Just as a demonstration of its realism, you may be interested in my wife's comments.
I loaded a shot of the room with the diamond pane door open above on my laptop and then turned it to show my wife.

Me: What do you think of this?
    SWMBO: Beautiful house...where is it?
    Me: It's a dolls house.
    SWMBO: ARE YOU SERIOUS?????

    Cheers
    Jim
