Default Doll's bed for my little monster

Little Miss 2.75 has a favourite doll (Babe) and is always wrapping her up in a blanket and putting her to sleep on the floor. I figured she could do with her own little bed so I knocked this up out of some scraps, wooden beads (filled the hole with dowel) for the post tops, masonite base, a couple of different sized MDF hearts from Blahnnings and glued up some foam scraps for the mattress and pillow.

I also had my first attempt at sewing with a machine that was gifted to me and did all the fabric. The mattress cover is atrocious so I'll redo it now that I've got a better idea on how, but for the most part it wasn't too bad for a newbie.

It all went down a treat when I gave it to her this morning. I was so chuffed that she liked it and she played with it almost constantly...when she wasn't being chased by a dinosaur - the kid has a great imagination.

Yep, she loves it. She ever so gently lays out the sheets and tucks her doll in. It's gorgeous to watch.

Surprisingly it can even support her standing and sitting in it when she tries to use it as her own bed.

Although, she's had one accident with it when she fell/rolled off the ottoman and copped one of the posts right on her coccyx bone, which hurts like hell, and left a fair bruise...but she's a trooper and doesn't hold a grudge towards it

The bed looks great. Girls are so hard to make things for as most toys are aimed at the boys.
