    The Zinsser shellac I use is a 2lb cut as far as I remember. I thin my shellac with 95% proof ethanol which I can get from bunnings as methylated spirit. In NZ, you'll have to get some industrial grade ethanol as normal methylated spirit is coloured.

    I use it for cleaning, not sure I'd use it for shellac as I'm not sure if it's clean/pure enough?
