    Default New Excavator model

I've just completed the build of the new Excavator from T&J plans. Lots of hard to do parts like the tracks but the result is just rewarding. Thank's for looking.

Well done, looks great! The treads on these things are always a trial, I usually get it right on the third or fourth attempt.

Impressive work lots of detail like the worklights, engine cowl vent and hydraulic thumb, nice shed too "all the gear" are bandsaws cheap in Canada or you just don't like changing blades.

I will post pictures of the jigs and the procedure I used to make the threads on that project later. They are fairly easy to produce with those jigs.IMG_2461.jpg

Great job there. Good use of ebonizing... Did you just ebonize or enhance with tea or whatever (to get that darker hue)?

Look forward to your jigs. I'm about to embark on making the T&J half-track and have been juicing myself in preparation due to my trepidation of track making.
