Default Fire Truck based on the Aschi's Workshop "My Red Fire Truck" plan

Fire Truck based on the Aschi's Workshop "My Red Fire Truck" plan [with PeterBilt modifications and alterations]......

A friend of mine, who's more of a brother, as I've known and been a part of his family since 1960, asked me a favour....

A neighbour of his, who have been long time Rural Fire Service volunteers, along with being very supportive and helpful to him through a number of difficult years.

He was up here last month and asked if I could make him a wooden toy fire engine to give as gift to his friends.

We found this plan amidst my plans and here's the progress thus far, only "phoney photos" and there's still a lot to be done.

It's helped fill in time when I've managed to get some shed time on the Monster Trucks.

It's not been too warm in my open under the house garage workshop this past few weeks.... Cheers, crowie

Looking great Peter you seem to be getting more shed time than I am at the moment unless you call roughing out woodturning blanks.

The last photo reminded me of flat pack furniture where you need to assemble yourself

Not enough shed time for my liking Derek, between medical appts, organizing the car repair [BEP BEP Insurance companies], cold wet or windy days plus the open garage under the house which is my woodwork shed, is not too warm....BUT life is good and any shed time makes it even more enjoyable....Cheers, Peter

Default Thank you Ladies & Gents....

    Thank you Ladies & Gents....

We've had some cold, wet and windy days here in the few days; not very pleasant working in an open under the house garage shed...It's taken a little over 4hours to get the finishing touches on the fire engine..

Lights front & rear, siren, search light, hoses, ladder rack, wheels plus the drivers seat raised....

The lacquer will have to wait until the weather clears up..

Cheers, crowie.PS - Apologies again for the "phoney photos"

    Thank "oneye"...
They are a bit tricky to add a dowel to but as you said they look good on the firetruck...
Something I hadn't thought of using before seeing them in this plan....

    Looks great.
If the shed is cold you could always light a fire to get rid of the shavings and off cuts. If the fire gets out of control, Handy and his fire engine will be there to put out the fire.
    Keep up the good work.

Looking good Crowie. I made a couple of those fire engines a few years back and they were a lot of fun. Ps I will start making toys soon.
