What does a Ford Hotrod enthusiast build to donate to a 50 year Naval Reunion Fund Raiser

A Ford Hotrod C Cab Delivery Van of course

Yes in October this yes it'll be 50 years since i joined the Royal Australian Navy and thanks to some very industrious blokes a reunion has been organised.

I was asked if I'd make one of my hand made wooden toys as a fund raiser for the occasion.

I have made it very similar to the one i gave the shop to sell but added a little more details.

Most of the timber is recycled or offcuts that have found a purpose.
    The sides are Spotted Gum.
    The roof American Oak.
    The engine is Tallow Wood.
    The radiator is Merbau.
The bumper bars are American Walnut.
The wheels, lights and labels are all bought with button steering wheel.
My homemade wipe-on-poly was used to finish the timber, 3 coats.

The fun part of this build for me is the Fund Raising aspect as it can't be run as a raffle for legal reasons so it's going to be a GUESSING COMPETITION!

YES, you have to guess the correct weight of the toy in grams in order to win it...

Good luck to my old navy mates, as they'll need it!

    Cheers crowie

Excellent work as always Handy; well done! (oh, and due recognition to Crowie for his assistance ).

I hope the reunion dinner is an improvement on the days when the Bait Layers handing out Maggot bags, Train Smash and Figgy Duff; washed down with 'Arry Limers.

Very nicely done. When I first started reading and the question was raised "what do you build for a naval reunion" I thought we were going to see a "boat tailed" vintage offering. Next 50th perhaps.

    Ford hotrod is just fine.
