Formula One Racing Car Toy
Hi All,
Working on toys for needy kids at Christmas. Decided on a Formula One.
Steps I took to make it.
Sketch Up something that resembled a Formula One to get my scaling
1.jpg
Made up templates out of MDF to make it easier for marking up
2.jpg
Mark out , cut, sand and glue components
3.jpg 4.jpg
Made up side wings of car. Chamfers done on sander
5.jpg 6.jpg 7.jpg
Made up wheels out of the same pine. Recess is done with a forstner bit. Made up an arbour to fit in metal turning lathe. I don't have a chuck in my wood lathe

Assemble the car

I am on my third one now.
I am going to paint bright red.
Regards
Keith

As long as you don’t motorise it!

Knowing you, you will be moving the Ford out of the garage. You will probably make it big enough to sit in, and single seat race cars are a tight squeeze to get in any way. So my guess is your scale will be 1000mm:1M or bigger!
Then you can put a little motor in it to help move it around (Torquay)!

Looking great. What sort of paint have you used and did you need to prime first?

Keith, now you need to roast some chickens, then you can save and glue the wishbones on as a modern F1 halo.
