    Default baggage carts

    Howdy crowie,

Thanks for the free plan from woodworker's journal e-mag. I get the e-mag also so had it opened for the free plans.

I built two baggage carts for my grandsons. Painted red and black. Not having any crayons to check out how they would lay on the cart, I hoped that they would okay. (baggabe_cart1.jpg; baggage_cart2.jpg)

Then got to thinking, these would not hold very many crayons for a child to use so changed the plan to hold more crayons.

I build a 2X size material list then built one. (baggage_cart2X.jpg) Used a mineral/wax finish on the pine.

The 2X size holds more crayons but looked so large to me so back to a material list that used for 1 1/2 size. (baggage_cart1_2_1.jpg)

Built it out of pine and used a red oak stain and two layers of clear spray. The pencils keep jumpinng out of the holes when I rolled around on the worktable.

So changed the cart to a covered cart. (baggage_cart1_2_5.jpg) They hold a number of crayons and they do not jump out of the toy.

Have not seen the grandsons for some time so do not know how they like them. Hope these can bring some grins to your's child.
