Default Fund Raiser Round Camphor Laurel Cheeseboard for the local community club. No wheels!

Fund Raiser Round Camphor Laurel Cheeseboard for the local community club.

My wife asked if I could make a round cheeseboard for the mid-year Boys & Girls Club fund raiser raffle.

Round wasn't something I was comfortable with but Papa Smurf and Handy Smurf encouraged me to have a go!

I found a 6" [150mm] wide piece of Camphor Laurel in my stash, something a woodworking mate had passed on.

I biscuited and glued two 12" pieces together then made a jig for my bandsaw to cut a circle which worked.

So filling with Starbond Medium CA on the joint and the dowel to plug the centre hole.

Sanding and routing a roundover on the edge before finish.

The finish is polished with "KustomGrit" Step#1 then Step#2 which is food grade, all finished.

Papa Smurf, Handy Smurf, my wife and myself are pleased with the result.

    This fund raiser done!

    Cheers crowie

Nice work Peter, the smurfs are industrious little buggers! Mind you, they look like they go blue in the face getting you to do stuff.
