What a tease! I also think it is a chopper. Although not sure how the rotor is going to clear the exhaust. Either way I love the design of the cab. Leo did you just imagine the recurring theme with these trucks or did something you saw give you the idea? Bret

The cab design comes from a hexagonal airport tower I once made. When looking at it, I thought that wit a half ring on it it looked to be round. It turned out well...

OK .... this is a waaaayout guess ...
In the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Arthur Dent discovers that the Planet Earth is actually a Computer, programmed to provide the answer to Life, the Universe and all that.
He meets Slartibartfast on the Planet Magarathea who takes him on a tour of the Workshops in which the Planet Earth was constructured ...commissioned by mice ... (I spelt construction rong, but on 2nd torts it looks OK) ... and as they travel the vastness of the workshop void ... they do so in a small machine identical to this, and it also is attached to a long toothed 'quill' gear, exactly like the gear attached to the rear of the cabin in your model .... Slartibartfast works the levers similar to those in your cabin (this is in the TV series not the movie in 2005.)
HowDidIDO ?????

Some more pictures, to keep everyone on edge...
Just added a few things. I'll explain: if you make elaborate toys this size, they have to WORK! The Alien 2 crane does, and the Alien 3 truck also works. I've been working (on my pc) on this one before I started with the crane. Some mathematics were involved, and I had to search a lot of things about gears...

Very nice work on the gear set, Leo....
You're not only a fine craftsman but a scholar to boot.
That looks like a blade on the bottom of that gear set??
