Welcome
Hi Wheeloftime
Make yourself at home here mate, they are all a great bunch of people as I
would suspect most toy maker are.
This forum has only been going for about a week ,so its only the start of the journy as far as this part of the forums goes.
What sort of toys are you making! would like to here some more about them.
I got some plans from the States a couple of weeks ago they were from Toys And Joys have you heard of them! Im sure you would have, they have been around for years. I am also waiting to here back from another supplier called Gatto Plan Service at Hamburg PA have you come across these people, its been a couple of weeks now and I was starting to get abit concerned, anyway that will sort itself out Im sure.
Have you got some pics of your toys if so we would like to see them.
Enjoy your stay. Regards colbra

Yes, would love to see some pics of your work. I think toys are always fascinating projects.
Reality is no background music.

Michigan..... brrrrrrrrr..... cold up there Closest I came to that was living in Ft.Knox! lol
I've just bought a book with old toy patterns...... animated.... not vehicles..... it doesn't have real good instructions, so not sure yet how/when I'll give them a try.
I love the old fashioned toys that do something..... simple ones.... not complicated automata that takes an engineer degree to accomplish.
Something a grandpa would put together quick for visiting grandkids..... somethign that wouldn't worry anyone if it broke as it could be made from cheap materials.
Those kind of patterns are really hard to find.
Specially if you don't remember the name of the toy. Like the man on a stick ..... looks like a stick comes out of his back... you hold him over a thin board you sit on... then tap a rythm on the board.... I think..... to make him dance! Shouldn't be that hard to make..... IF there was a pattern....
Anyway.... I tend to go on and on about my fav subject

Ill get some pics up in a couple of days. thanks for the warm welcome. I have a feeling I'll be around for awhile. Most of my stuff is from old books, I like the the older toy designs. I got started because the toys I was buying would break in a week or so. LOL three boys and two girls. Kinda hard on toys.
Oh my coffe is creamm two sugars. lol

Think I'm jealous..... you live in the land of book heaven..... soooooo many books.... I've looked on line.. but by the time you add shipping the old ones just get too expensive.
A couple of years ago when I first started looking our local library brought two in from other towns.... since then they started charging $14 for this service.... grrrrr
I should't gripe tho..... still a good source for patterns and it's not like I don't have a bunch already
I bought the "Folk Toys" pattern & projects for the scroll saw recentlly..... it has a couple nice ones, but was a little disappointing, the instructions aren't real good and I just don't have enough experience to do things like this without major hand holding.
