    Default From Horsepower to Horse

Yesterday it was a giant tractor and lots of horses, today it was a single horse.
Sister in law wanted a hobby horse for a 4yr old so I knocked this up, just on 750mm long.
12mm pine for the head, 19mm square for the shaft, 2 x 75mm wheels, handle 6mm dowel with 19mm sphere on the end, all in all very lightweight for a youngster.37A4C519-2F6B-4BCD-95A0-8A375D0FD31E.jpg767C7307-F333-4D47-910A-9801E48E06D9.jpg

Very nice and someone will get enjoyment from it.

The only thing that concerns me is the handle being only 6mm dowel as I know how easy that size can break. Personally I would have gone for 3/4" as it would also be easier for a child to grip.

Thanks for that Dalby, it was an area that concerned me, so this morning I removed the handle and upped it to 3/8 dowel with the spheres on the end as grips. Handles are only 65mm wide so hopefully they will now be strong enough. As it’s for the SIL I will give her a “lifetime warranty”
cheers and thanks for the suggestion.
