Default Ideas required for a toy zoo/farm

    Hi all,
Our 4yo has started collecting toy Schleich animals and I want to make her a kid safe zoo/farm like one I saw a couple of years ago at a hospital. I am thinking of using a light weight square of ply or similar as the base and then making fences and gates using fishing line and things like hinges or similar. Has anyone made something similar? I can't find any plans online. I am particularly interested in making the fence posts safer than having a nail or screw hanging out of the base for obvious reasons. Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    Shane

    Hi Shane
I don't know whether this is what you are looking for but I found this in an old book I inherited from my father.

About the fences you could make them green hedges or simple white walls. If you are really artistic you could paint them to look like stone walls. Easier to attach hinges to wood walls than nails or screws as you mentioned.

Actually that looks awesome. Might have to build a barn and have it more as a farm. Don't know what to do with the giraffe's she has though!!

Thanks for that, really good idea. Much more child safe than screws and fishing line and should look good with a bit of paint (might be a job for the wife though!). Looks like it won't be too hard to knock together, just need to get some free time.
    Thanks again.
