Image Scaling Application

I've just added an image scaling application to blocklayer.com, that may come in handy for finding scaled measurements from images for models.
Fix Incorrect Plan Image Scale and Measure Directly From Image at Correct Scale - Metric

You load an image from your file system (or download first from web), and click and drag to measure a known dimension in the image.
Enter the actual full scale dimension you just measured in the textbox and click to set the scale, so you can measure any other dimensions in the image at scale.

You can also drag the slider to resize the image to a larger or smaller size, re-setting the scale.
Works best with 2d plan images, so if the image has much depth, obviously the farther away objects will not scale correctly with the front most objects.

Is this of any benefit for model makers?
Does it need other additions or changes?

You'll need a reasonably new browser for it to work properly (IE10, Chrome or Firefox)

Excellent Blocklayer. I just used it on a side view I have of a 32' Ford. I know the wheels are 15" so it worked perfectly. Thank you very much. This will be very useful for all the model makers.

Well there you go all my hard work calculating dividing multiplying
and subtracting pixels on my paint programme out the window.
This scale calculator of yours is the bees knees!

It's fast and simple to use.
Anyone making models at any scale will find this a real help.
At the moment I'm building a 2/3 scale Indian Straight Four.
I have no plans for it only the pictures I can find on line.

The image scaling application is just brilliant.

A very useful tools to add to the arsenal also had a good look around and there are more things of use to modellers like the spoke one Printable Hub, Spoke and Spindle Templates - Metric

Thanks for all the replies.
Looks like it may be a worthwhile addition to the calculators.

It also turns out to be pretty handy for taking off and adding linear (wall length) measurements from floor plans.
Check the 'Path' box and click points in the plan image to draw a path, adding each legs' length to the total.

I've made a short demo video on how to use it (it's a bit rough) if anyone is interested.
