Hi All,

I have made up the number plates for my locomotive.

First thing was to mark out some 2mm aluminium flat stock and using an end mill cut out the interior shape on my milling machine

Rough cut and filed the outer shape

Next I got some more 2mm flat and made out my backing plate. I used 5 Minute Araldite to secure the outer rim to the backing plate.

I finished off the sizing so they were all the same size and smoothed down using emery cloth. I spray painted the white outer rim and hand painted the inner black section. Made up my number A122 and then adhered the number to the plate. Here is the end result -

Hi All,

I have just about finished my locomotive and the next step is making the trackwork for it to sit on. Cathie took a photo of me with my loco. I am really happy with the outcome. It will sit well with all my steam locomotives that I have previously built.
This locomotive is 1/7th scale of the prototype. Will keep you updated on my trackwork and the finished locomotive. Thanks for your comments and support.

Well done. Another one for the collection.
Perhaps you need to build a Y class steam engine to go with it. Most of the Y class steam engines were manufactured in 1889 by Phoenix Foundry in Ballarat.

As always a great build the only thing is it looks too clean needs some dirt on it
