Mahogany Express
Hi guys,
While my other scale car projects are parked up for a while I got some inspiration from my 2 little boys obsession about Thomas the tank engine and steam trains.
With no particular plan and details(just a rough vision) in mind decided to make one unique steam train from Mahogany wood that I took off the pallets that came from India with Indian Sandstone for my friend.
So using Mahogany and some pine wood along with some toothpicks for smaller detail work. There's not much detailed pictures on how I got this far as I didn't wanted to post this build up in very start. Now that it's coming along together I thought it would be a crime not to share my build.
For rough guidelines using various pictures of steam engines from around the world.

G'day "silverlux";
This one very impressive train build.... The hollow cylinder construction of the steam boiler is brilliant.
Thanks for all the beaut photos; keep it coming.

crankshaft, steam chamber, valves, pistons, running board
how about an update on my Mahogany Express
decided to make new crankshafts for both sides as something was missing on previous ones, didn't liked the looks of them
I like it better this way with 2 color touch
steam chambers on the way
and pistons that will be driven forward and backward by moving wheels and crankshafts
test fitted and mechanism tested
front platform added
Running board/foot plate holders added
test fitted
