Sounds good. No rush as I never have time for these things. Does seem like a nice, achievable carving job though

How'd you do the wheels? A drill press jobbie, lathe or something else?

    Cheers,
    Dave

compass and bandsaw,(2 laminations glued together) then a nut and bolt through the centre hole, bolt end in battery drill and angle grinder to shape.
takes me almost the same time to describe the process as it does to do it

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Oh yes! That is definitely a collector's item!

I love that it begs to be driven and played with, drooled over and enjoyed!

If they all come out like that I can't see too many kids getting their hands on them, at least until Dad falls off his perch. Definitely looks like something you'd see in a Gallery or on sale at a Motor Show.

    just an update,
about a dozen of these cars have been made to date,
I insisted on good quality red cedar rather than pine,
I insisted on $350 rather than $35, (there's $16 worth of materials, and lots and lots of time)
    they're 400mm long and 180mm high,
All sold in 2 days and a waiting list for 7 more (word of mouth only)
and a bunch of vary happy mens shed users, particularly three retired blokes (who have never woodworked) and have a waiting list for their next pieces.....noice

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?
