Default Model "T" Ford Tanker - Norm Marshall Style

Model "T" Ford Tanker - Norm Marshall Style
I've just finished the assembly of this one.
Now I have to do the finish sanding & lacquering..
The Base is Cypress Pine as is the Tank.
Both Mudguards are the recycled 'telegraph poles", very old Aussie hardwood, as are the axle supports..
The Cabin is Merbau laminated post .
    The Wheels are also Merbau.
    The Engine is Spotted Gum.
No quite true to the plans in the book but its come up okay.
Thanks for looking, I'll add another lot of photos when the lacquer is dry.
    Cheers, crowie

    Well done Crowie

You are certainly churning out these toys. I look forward to seeing it lacquered.

And yes you beat me finishing the tanker I've been sidetracked with making a bandsawn box.

    Keep them coming.

Thank you Ray for the encouragement & good humoured reply.
I've started the lacquering plus have another Model T Ford Ute 2/3's finished.
I enjoy doing these style of toys; it helps take my mind off the health issues and life is good.
Looking forward to seeing both your tanker & your "bandsaw box".
    Cheers, crowie

Good one Crowie, I'm feeling a bit uneasy 'cause I don't say anything much in this around this neck of the woods but I love what toymakers do and what you've made is a beauty Crowie. You're obviously unfazed and enjoy using many woods together, tell you the truth though I'd want to apply some colour but that's just me

    G'Day Craig,
You'll find a heap of beautiful toys & models in this part of the forum.
On my first Norm Marshall Model T Ford, my grandson said "it's got no colour pa"; then I showed him all the beautiful colours & grains in the actual timber.
I love the mixing & matching of the timbers; creats so much more interest in the toy.
This being said, I do paint a lot of the toy, toys for the little children; lots of bright colours followed by a coat of clear gloss lacquer.
Thank you for taking the time to look though the toys & models.
    Cheers, crowie

G'Day Craig, Norm Marshall did published a great Toymaking Book.
It was re-printed later in colour with Bill Jones.
I've attached a couple of photos of both books.
I was caught out and bought both books then found out they are the same book.
    Cheers, crowie
