Noah's Ark
One of my niece's is having a kid in June and her mother asked me to make an Ark...
This is the result.noah1.jpg
I used ubeaut dyes for the house as it all looked a bit to plain.
Each of the animal pairs is a different timber.
Some sets have a girl and boy animal and some are just a copy of each other.
They all fit inside the house part.
The house sits down into the hull about 2 inches so that can always be pulled out and used for dollies seeing its a girl on the way.
Now they are small animals so you can see in the centre secion a selection of plastic animals that I think the kid can play with.
The timber will need to wait till the kid is old enough (to not want to play with them).
C&C welcome.

Cute! I think we need close ups. They would look great all lined up along a window sill until she is old enough to not ( ) play with them. (You mean eat them don't you? )
Did you make Noah and his wife? Oh yes. very good.,anne-maria.

Hi TL,
Yes but maybe you'd not be happy that Noah has a crook and the missus has a broom (they are either side of the ramp (that also fits inside the house).
I reckon a shelf up on the wall at picture rail height for the ark and put all the animals along the picture rail.
I ran out of different timbers for animals but someone at mens shed has some more scraps she's going to give me so I can do a few more animals.
The wood ones go in the outside sections of the house and I have filled the centre with plastic ones but they could go back into the container they came in to make room for more timber ones..

I just spotted this Peter. Nice work.
I usually jump over this section and go straight to Scale Models. Glad I stopped off.
Where on Earth did you get the 3000yo Bog Oak? Is that it's natural colour?... Steve

Thanks Steve
Tom in Lakes entrance gave me a piece 30x30x500.
Half is a bit rotton, but I thought I could take half thickness and make the penguins from that.
It is very very dark but the WOP (trying to use up cos I no like) made it go black.
Been busy today finishing a few things so I'll post them in the next few days.

G'day Peter,
That's one very fine Noah's Ark you've built and the range of animals is superb.
They look great in the natural timber; will have to keep an eye out for the plastic ones too.
Where did you get all the extra patterns for such a wide array of animals, please.
Top marks for a project well done.
cheers, crowie

Great work on the ark.
After reading your post about making two of everything then looking at the photos I saw Noah in two photos but thought that you made two Noah's.
