OLD oak
I found these old dressers and were made by Sears in 1958. The sides and the top are 1 1/8" thick and the drawers are 1/2" thick.
The gluelines are seperating but will great for projects.
I made a dump truck and a 1' long/high trebuchet out of the oak.

My new(USED) toy
I was able to get a thickness planer. Found on EBay and was the only one to bid. Some rust but works great. Changed the knives and have gone though about 25 bf so far.
Will cut down on the sandpaper cost for the drum sander.
All cleaned and lubed. Others said that it is a good one. All metal except for the out duct for the motor cooler air.
I'm happy

Looks like a good purchase. great help in the shop for sure. Nice work on the dump truck

Great recycling, top ebay purchase and what a terrific truck.
What finish are you putting on the truck?
And if it's not too rude of me, what did the planner/thicknesser cost, please?
How much timber is left over after the truck?
Is there enough for another project?

I used one drawer ( two sides and part of the front) for the dump truck. I used a mineral/wax finish on the dump truck.
The EBay bid was for 169.00. I bought two sets of knives for the planer for 21.00 each. It is a Delta 22-540 (New cost 450.00) and did not get the knife gage so I made a temporary gage. I am waiting for someone to send a template from his gage.
I have a lot left over. The picture shown of stack is only one of the dressers so double of the stack and you can see I have a lot left. Most of the 1/2" sides are glued together and the glueline is seperated so most are 2 - 3" wide. But some of them are 5 - 6" wide so I think it was a great find.
