A pair of tractors
Got an order last week for a pair of wooden tractors.
I decided to make 2 identical tractors, one with a tipping trailer and one with a flat bed. The 2 trailers are interchangeable.
Here's the result of an hours work:
Attachment 210412
All the parts cut out bar the wheels.
Glueing it all up:
Attachment 210408
The chassis of the flatbed trailer:
Attachment 210417
And the tipper trailer:
Attachment 210416
Attachment 210420
The tipper assembled:
Attachment 210410
Attachment 210407
The tractor unfinished:

Attachment 210411
The tractor is 200mm by 80mm (without the wheels), trailer is around 310mm and 80mm wide. Ill post some better sizes and descriptions along with pictures of the finished pair later on.
Regards,
Dirk

Looks good Dirk. Are you making these for a living or just building them on the side?

G'Day Dirk,
Well done with great WIP photos & notes.
You seem to have the build down pat.
The child you are building it for will be very impressed indeed...
Thank you for this one.
Cheers, crowie

Great work, Dirk
It's a nice contrast of woods that you have used. Appreciate the WIP photos too.
By the way: the axle pins - how have you made them?
Cheers.

Thanks guy's,
Bret, I dont have to make a living out of these thank god as it'll never pay (unfortunatly).
The axles are pre-made and ordered from here:
Wooden Wheels & Accessories, Woodworks Craft Supplies
One question tho, how do ye price your toys? I asked €30 (AU$38) for the pair.
I spend about 4-5 hours on the pair.
Here is the finished result anyway's:
