Thanks, mate.
The tail is a beauty! I reckon that the kids will love it. The author of the book suggested using thick leather in that manner but, of course, the soft luxurious kangaroo fur is not available in the USA where that book was published. I obtained small off-cuts of the kangaroo fur, and indeed other hides, from the Reverse Garbage shop.
Because, the two year old to whom the hound is going also has an eight month old sister, I am wary about adding bits that might come off when chewed. The tail is not such a great problem in that regard as it is very securely wedged and glued into the hole in which it sits. On the other hand, I suspect that the only way to make eyebrows out of the fur would be to just glue then on and I would have less confidence in the glue holding with some serious hard treatment by kiddies.
If one were to do eyebrows or eyelashes in this way then cowhide would probably be a better choice than 'roo fur as the hair on cowhide is more of a hair-like nature than fur.
