Default Pull Along Mother and Baby Duck

    Hi All,

Still on needy kids Christmas presents.

Decided to make a Pull Along Duck.

Used offcuts of 35mm thick pine and glued them together to get the heights of the ducks. The mum duck is 190mm high. Baby duck is 130mm high.

Googled "Cartoon Duck Images" and chose my duck. Printed on A4 to get my template and then just reduced in size for the baby duck

Glued to timber and cutout on bandsaw

Lots of filing and sanding to ensure no splinters or rough edges

Made up wheels on lathe out of 19mm thick pine

Ensure the wheels won't foul the wings. The cut out 12mm thick pine wings. Glue and nail in position.

Paint using your own colour scheme. The eyes are from Spotlight. (really cheap) I araldited these in position.

The axles are 6mm dowel. The holes for the axles are 6.5mm.
I made up spaces 10mm wide between the duck and wheels on each wheel to give the wheelbase a bit more width.
The handle is made of pine. I wanted the wheels to look a bit like feet so I painted them the orange.

    Keith

Very clever, love your paint schemes. These will be hit I’m sure.

    Well done Keith.
Lots of kids will get something at Christmas in what might be a bleak time for many.

Stay Well. Stay Safe. (And enjoy the shed time!)

Another great effort Keith. Your painting quality really sets off the workmanship.

Nice work Keith ! Doing this must be fun after the demands of the last mega project, and such a fine thing to do for others. Must follow your example.

    Regards,
    Gus
