Rat Rod
HI all,
Time to get onto my next project.
Crowie has inspired me with his work to make a Rat Rod. Thanks Peter !!
As I said in my Indy Car post, my grandson loves anything to do with cars - racing or hotted up.
I had an old Radio control truck which I have now dismantled and am going to use as my base for my Rat Rod. I know it is cheating a bit but who cares.
This will be a RC Rat Rod that will be one of a kind.

This is the dismantled base that I will be working on.
Hope Josh likes it.
All good fun
Regards
Keith

I have been a bit crook (but at least it's not COVID) that's why it's taken a while since my last post.
I have made up the basic chasis of the unit. It's made out of a oak. I have then designed and made up my V8. I am looking forward to my remote control Ratrod or Hotrod.

Hi All,
Continuing on my remote control Ratrod / Hotrod.
I purchased some mini flashlights at a reject shop for $2.50 each. Using these as my headlights. To my joy they were made out of aluminium. I cut them down and machined them in my metal lathe. I the made up the back end of the headlight out of aluminium and made them an interference fit into the torch casing. They have come up pretty good I think. The radiator is made from 3 ply and pine. The grill is from an old speaker I had lying around. The radiator cap is turned up aluminium.
Enjoying this build immensely as I can make up whatever I like.

Keith, your comment about enjoying this build immensely as you can let your creativity run loose leads me to think there will be more such projects in the future.....I hope!

Hi Ray,
Thanks for your comments. Yes you are right there will be more different projects in the future I think ( I am running out of space for my large build locomotives.) You just have to ask Cathie
Maybe more remote control builds ???
Very enjoyable coming up with my own ideas instead of building to prototypes.
Many thanks
Keith
