Default Realistic Wooden Wheels,- part 2.

Aussie-made Realistic Wooden Wheels, - I am going to set up some photos shortly, & post them on this thread, as my friend who is making the realistic Wooden Wheels for me has come up with several absolutely brilliant designs,- For example has anyone ever seen Wooden MAG Wheels based on the Ford, " Daytona, " Mags which were standard with the Australian 1970-72 Falcon XY-GT, or the Falcon GT 12 slotters also made in wood ? Also have," Duelies," for trucks set to, 1:20 scale, plus the 85mm.Dia. Treaded Tractor Wheels, and, IF this isn't enough for everyone who reads this thread, my same mate has invented an Aussie, " West-Coast Mirror," using polished Stainless Steel, set to 1:20 scale for my Big Rigs.

*** For everyone who," Loves their Trucks," I am S-L-O-W-L-Y developing a new set of Toy plans in 1:20 scale featuring realistic Cab-overs,- Macks; Kennys; Inters; Isuzu's, etc., all based on real ones,- standard cabs; sleepers; long-trays; twin-steers, etc.,etc, along with an expanded range of Trailers to choose as well, with the choice of a basic design for a child's toy, or something a bit more detailed for, " Adult-size kids. " and, providing everything goes according to plan, the New-look Aussie Truck Wheel Designs will also be included with each Toy plan for those who have their own lathe
Below I have added a photo of one of my current Cab-Over Rigs, which is being up-dated, along with the realistic Low-Loader, ( Low-Loader has independently operating Rear Ramps, and is the, " baby," of the up-coming new set of trailers )

    Happy woodworking
    Roger

Default Here are the Realistic Wooden Wheel Pics;-

Genuine South Australian Designed and Made. Genuine Radiata Pine used.
Friend who is making these for me is in the process of designing a suitable attachment for use on most Woodworking lathes that can be used by any woodie to make these Wooden Wheels with a variety of Tread patterns, dimensions, etc.
This Attachment, when perfected, will be available for sale on my separate website, as my friend has asked me to be the Sole Global Distributor for his invention. If any reader of this thread is interested in the future purchase of this Aussie made Wooden Wheel Tread Cutter for lathes, simply contact yours truely.

    Below Photos show,

    ( A ), The 12 slot Mag Wheel,- 72mm.Dia x 19mm. thick Pine.

( B ) " Daytona," type Mag, also 72mm.Dia x 19mm. thick Pine,- ( I have a realistic Falcon Ute Toy Plan of my own design which either of these two Wheel designs will fit. )

    ( C ) Treaded Tractor Wheels,- 85mm.Dia x 35mm. thick Pine drilled to take 9.5mm.dowel axles. These are cut from one single timber thickness, ( 90 x 35 )

Have Duel Truck wheels here too, but the above ones will do to begin with.

    Happy woodworking,
    Roger

Nice wheels. Nice clean lines considering the timber is pine.

Default Realistic Wooden Wheel-making Attachment update,

New Info. ( 1 ). Attachment will fit any woodworking lathe,- although one can also fit it to any Pedestal Drill with a #2 Morse Taper, or a 1/2" chuck.
    ( 2 ) There are separateTwo sections,- The Standard Wheel-maker which can cut wooden wheels from 25mm.Dia, ( 1" ), up to 100mm. ( 4" ), Dia, or larger.
The second section is the separate Tread-Cutter, which also cuts Treads on a variety of Wooden Wheel Diameters, and does not require a lathe to operate it. The tread-cutter does require a separate Laminate Trimmer with 1/4" chuck to hold the special cutters which are available separately, as the cutters are specially made to suit each individual customer's own requirements.
** Simply explained this NEW Attachment has taken the original Toy Wheel Cutter to a new level whereby YOU, have your own choice of wheel Diameter, thickness and style,- and with the use of the Tread-Cutter opens up an enomous range of wooden wheel styles, and diameters, which were not previously available to the average home or hobby woodworker / toymaker worldwide
Estimated Weight of the Wheel-cutter is 750 Grams, ( about 1,1/4lbs ), and fits into a standard shoebox, ( Cutter included ), AND Two wheels at a time can be cut, & shaped. Estimated Retail Price round Aust$75. - $80. plus delivery.
Photos will be available shortly showing this interesting Wheel-Cutter in action.
Then ALL future info will be in the most appropriate section on this site plus also on my own website.
