Thread: Resin cast fidget spinner

I had recently made a lathe steady and was poking around looking for a set of high speed bearings that I had bought to make some fidget spinners with, and as the spinners had fallen by the way side I found a better use of the bearings.

but Lo and behold whilst looking for the bearings I found the incomplete spinner, so thought why not, finish smith job that's been laying around.

its a Dai sensei (Neil) created mallee burl cast off cut.

i know the craze has been and gone but maybe this beaut will kick it off again. Now the kids are fighting over it. But as the mug says 'I rule', I may just keep for myself.

Short of being dropped, it should last a while and the ceramic bearings should fall apart. Bit of a waste of top quality ceramic bearings but hey that's what I bought them for.
