Roader Grader W.I.P
Hi All
Things are moving along with the road grader the truck turned up tonight with the front boom section and I unloaded it.
I unloaded it myself seeing all the staff had gone home (grandkids for the non-followers) this in itself maybe a problem and result in a dispute with my workers as I am not in the union. Anyway took it off and done a temporary W.IP so as to show that a little progress has occurred over the last couple of days

I bit more progress with the grader but there is a little bit of a story with it
Earlier this year I sold my radial arm drill the reason being that I was not happy with it.
It was a scheppach there were to many moving part that were not engineered all that well so I got rid of it.
I also had a sige mill drill that was too small to use with any success on heavier metal cutting jobs but was very good for milling wood and a very accurate drill that was moved up to the work shop
The problem occurred today when I tried to drill the front hole for the axle assembly in the front boom section.
The mill would not go up high enough to clear room to drill the hole and I did not want to drill the hole by hand with an electric drill in case I did not get it straight so with a bit of setting up the larger vertical and horizontal mill done the job as per the attached picture

It’s been two weeks since I put a WIP in on my road grader, as pathetic as it was I explained things at the time! or more to the point made some good excuses…… any way I had mentioned in another post that I am not going to build the two grader as proposed….. Owing to the time fact and getting nowhere with the project the big problem for me was the youngest grandson who has been asking for months when will the grader be finished.
So I will complete one and then tackle the other one so just to make a mends to the young fella I built a small one this week and now he is happy
this leaves me clear to make some progress with the original project of which I have made some progress as well… as a matter of fact I am now traveling at the speed of a startled gazelle and may have it finished in about 4 weeks
The other reason for building it was….. tomorrow I am meeting Crowie and would have nothing to talk about.

Good morning Col for this new month....
Thanks for the photos of the small grader and yes as Christos said, the little bloke will have a huge smile soon.
On the other photos & details, I'll just have to wait and that's okay.
Cheers, crowie
