A bloke I’ve known since 1960 who’s been a sort of big brother to me dropped in last week.

He was impressed with seeing my woodwork projects first hand BUT!

Were is Rudolph’s red-nose was the comment!

Yes that’s the question my big brother asked when looking at the set of Sleigh & Reindeer I recently made.

Well, he my be the big brother figure in my life BUT he’s just thrown down a challenge!

How could I let him get away with that!

While looking through my timber stash he saw the offcuts of Walnut, commenting that’s nice timber.

So the deal was done with the challenge set, a “RED NOSED REINDEER” with a “RED SLEIGH” dressed with WALNUT.

The sides of the sleigh are biscuit joined Red Gum with the front, base, seat and back are laminated Walnut.

The reindeer is Tallow Wood with a Bloodwood nose.

The finish is my home-made wipe-on-poly.

Of course my little blue friend Handy helped in the shed getting sorted.

And so that's how you put a big brother in his place.

Cheers crowie
