simple car
So being unemployed and not trying too hard to get a job at the mo I've been having some fun in the workshop.....
It's made of NZ Rimu finished with rustkins teak oil coz it's what I had.
I'm not so happy with the wheels and drivers area both could do with more finishing but was a fun little project.... now onto the next one.
also what is a more child friendly finish??? Linseed oil???
Cheers Rob

G'Day Rob,
It looks great to me, strong & sturdy, any small child would have hours of fun.
I'm not a wood turner and just use wheels cut with a holesaw with a wood dowel axle, so you're one up on me.
I just normally clear lacquer my wooden cars and haven't had any issues. Originally when my girls were very little I used vegetable oils but it wasn't durable.
Cheers, Crowie

Good little toy and looks like fun to make.
Reality is no background music.
