Hi all this may be of interest to some. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLSsjfROkZY]Model Robot: Hydraulic Arm - YouTube[/ame]
The more adventuresses may have a go at making it or something similar it looks rather fun and not all that complicated to do. There may even be a plan somewhere on the internet.

Some nice lateral thinking there, I can see someone doing model backhoes and dozers and tip trucks with that incorporated, even hydraulic service lift in a model garage. Now there is an idea for a new competition, best hydraulic model.... what do reckon fellas?

Oooooh, the possibilities! Being a nurse my supply options are enormous. We have anything from 5mL to 50mL syringes with a leur lock such as this:

From there we then have tubing that you can screw into each end along with various fittings such as 3 way taps etc. You could, theoretically, control a robot with one syringe!!!!!

One thing though, the ID of the tubing is quite small therefore you would have to press the syringe quite hard if the component is large at the other end.

I'm off to work this arvo, going to investigate

Thanks very much for this Col, you've triggered off my mind on this one. Let me know if you would like to benefit

    Default Thanks Scott

    Hi Scott
I do have this project in the bucket list but to move in that direction would be to much at the moment I am struggling with time as far as my model building goes my youngest grandson 4 yrs doses not give me any piece as to when the road grader will be completed.
I have done a lot this week and will Add to a W.I. P. with in the next two weeks may even nearly have finished by then.
At the moment I am doing a quick small grader for him to play with that is finished except for painting it yellow with black wheels that was the requiste.
and will put that up on the forum.

    Well done Col.
Great bit of late morning tea entertainment.
That kid could be a good mechanical engineer one day.
If he used large syringes through there own supply tank & all clamped off, he'd have a super monster.
I'll watch for your Col after the Graders are done.
    cheers, crowie

Pete you would be watching in vane after the road grader there is wooden locks then the sit on back hoe and between these projects there's the annual fishing trip to Port Stephens next year, then to Bingara for a month and a couple of short trips down to the Central Highlands, maybe to Victoria and Melbourne. This is the schedule at the moment but could change at any moment I am only in charge of the back shed…… and I’m not even sure about that!!!!!
