Don't worry about it Gary. Just keep those great posts coming, I personally couldn't care less what font they're in.
MarkWhat you say & what people hear are not always the same thing.

It might be a convention, but its not law.
If they only want one font, why is it selectable
Use whatever you like as far as I'm concerned.
JUST KEEP DOING YOUR WIP"S, and yes that was meant to be yelling.

G'Day Gary,
The "boss" was properly not aware that you're a "stone mason" from what we'd call in Australia, "the bush", of mature years, not some young bloke or computer geek, and besides it's more than likely FRED's fault "Flippin Ridicules Electronic Device [computers that is] as they never do what you think you are asking them to do....This is the name the maintenance tech's named the computer at work when they were introduced into the factory. Of course the "F" wasn't as polite as my extension....lol..
Keep the SUPERB WORK IN PROGRESS photos & build notes coming Gary; just love your craftsmanship....
Cheers, crowie

I agree with what's already been said, and furthermore, I like your large fonts - for a change I didn't need my glasses to read your posts.

For those that like the larger fonts, most browsers allow you to enlarge the text without it affecting the font sizes for others.
Been a while since I've checked but these following instructions should sort you out.
Internet Explorer
1. From the View menu, select "Text Size."
2. From "Text Size," choose from smallest, smaller, medium, larger, or largest. Medium is the installed default.
Firefox
1. From the View menu, select the "Increase text size" option
2. Alternative method: From the Tools menu, select "options," select the "fonts and colors" button, and choose the "minimum font size."
Netscape and Mozilla
1. From the View menu, select the "Text zoom" item.
2. From "Text zoom," choose from smaller, larger, or a predefined percentage value.
100% is the installed default.
Opera
1. From the View menu, select the "Zoom" item.
2. From "Zoom," choose from predefined percentage values or percentage changes. The default is 100%.
Safari
1. From the Preferences menu, select "Advanced."
2. From the "Advanced" menu, select the checkbox to "never use fonts smaller than the selected size."
3. Choose a font size from the pop-up menu.Cheers

In IE8, under XP SP3, this doesn't change the text size in posts at all. It stays the same whether I select 'Smallest' or 'Largest'. Don't know if this is just my browser or everyone using IE. Not really an issue, though, since I always have my goggles close to hand.
Edit: I also just checked in the forum's 'General Settings', in case there was something there affecting text sizes, but couldn't find anything related.
N.B. Changing the page's overall zoom size helps, but I'm already at 125% and at 150%, the max, everything gets rearranged, since everything is then enlarged, not just the text.
Just tried Firefox 19.0.2 and same result - neither 'View'> 'Zoom'> 'Zoom Text Only' nor the 'Fonts and Colors' method make any difference.
Using IE8, I've tried a number of sites now, with the same result. If I open a pure HTML document, however, the text size changes without a problem. This is an old html page stored on my machine.... Steve

To temporarily increase your font size or reduce it.
Hold your 'CTRL' key down and tap-tap-tap your '+' sign to increase and '-' sign to decrease.
(oopps ... forgot to mention that this will only affect your own computer .. will not change fonts on the forum .. you can use it safely)
This won't always work for pictures ... and probably not on a MAC.

As this subject seems to be creating a lot of angst perhaps it might be timely to remind people of what the boss has written in the forum rules on this subject:
Continued use of capital letters and oversized fonts is not acceptable.
Using capitals like THIS to highlight a specific word is acceptable, but sometimes it's better to use bold like this to highlight a word or get a point across.
USING CAPS LIKE THIS FOR AN ENTIRE POST ISN'T ACCEPTABLE- THIS ALSO ISN'T ACCEPTABLE, BECAUSE THEY'RE BOTH CONSIDERED TO BE SHOUTING and is poor Forums etiquette. Posts made entirely in capitals are hard for many people to read and may be deleted.
Font sizes: The forum font size is 2 point, the size this is written in. Continually using bigger fonts like this or this for entire posts is not acceptable and will be changed or deleted as it ruins the flow of threads and many members refuse to read it.
Bigger font size may be used for effect or announcements, etc. eg: Don't do it! or Urgent help needed, etc Other than that please don't do it!

And some leniency should be given to new members and those that are not computer savvy.
This may be the first forum that they have ever been involved in.
Some of the forum members have never done anything more than send an email and maybe browsed the internet before joining.
You can write long lists of rules, but I'm guessing that font size means nothing to lots of people, even what a font is.
I'd say half of the older people I fix computers for have absolutely no idea what forum etiquette is.
Give them time to learn, we all get told bits as we go along, but thats how we all learn.
