Aren't you a little late for the R.A.S. currently on?? Or is there another woodworking specific show after this?
I want to see this finished in person, but don't rush it. That's when mistakes happen.Too many projects, so little time, even less money! Are you a registered member? Why not? click here to register. I cant make it to Albury This year I wont have time.Sorry Juvy
Had troubles with my car.No photos. But I got a lot of dust in the last coat.SO I have to do a lot of scraping and sanding I suppose.I nearly landed it up the drive, but thought of all the work I had put into it (and showing it finished shortly on this thread)
Takes longer to do a bad job,and fix it,than it does to do it right in the first place
I usually put finish on then put it in a large thing that blankets came in.Big clear square bag with a zipper.I have a wire frame in it to hold its shape.Keeps all the dust off.
But being smart I didnt do it this time did I?Back To Car Building & All The Sawdust.

Hi Aussie
I think your is one of the coolest projects I have seen. I would be delighted if it could be finished in time to show it off at the WWW show in Melbourne. I can feel and sharethe pleasure you get from overcoming challenges of working with such small parts, and coming up with solutions for making things like this from wood.
Keep up the good work, and keep us all up to date with progress. It's marvellous.

I know all the wives are probably going to shoot me , but since I'm not a cook.... I just thought of another dustfree environment..... the oven!!!!! lol
My ex was in the army and he used to apply some special black shoepolish/paint to the tip of his boots, then needing a dustfree invironment he put them into the oven.... I only turned it on ONCE!!!!!! lol

Well I have a confession.I am over 6ft high and rather heavy, not scared of much.BUT I wouldn't be game to try the oven.SHMBO would turn the oven on for the fun of it and say.Well I didnt know.Or you didnt tell me, or one of the other excuses from the book of excuses .Very good Idea though.I noticed a post by funky tonight. He put some pens in to dry finish. He had heat to high and cracked one.

I've always said: "Show me a 30's coupe and I'll show you a blank canvas for a flame paint job." This one's the exception that proves the rule.
Now hurry up and finish it so I can drool over the pix!

Can't please everyone Aussie! I have had no worries with what you have been doing... always look forward to seeing where you are up to with your car.....
Just wish I could find the time to do few toys myself. I am on holidays but the family have got me flat out building, fixing up the back yard and supposedly spring cleaning the house!!!!
I reckon I will be glad to get back to work!
Don't worry about it... some people are like that... I have had some pm's too about various issues.
Regards,
Chipman

Hard to read? lol your text was bigger - easy to read in my books.
If one wants to gripe about anything at all maybe some of your photos were a big bit.. makes it a bit hard on those of us with slow connections.... other then that... not a problem at all.
If someone doesn't like your style.... well nobody is forced to come and read every entry in a forum?

Good point Juvy
Good point Juvy. Some of the photos are done on Photobucket.,All are 800 x 600 or less but the little ones on the forum are much less that that ,unless you click on them. Then they go to 800 x 600 or less.My large ones are only large because they are blown up a lot for people to see the details. but still under 800 x 600.I will make them all small ones now It is easier for me and I didnt think of the old dial up internet, sorry Juvy
