the finished dozer
Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally!!!!! finished the project. Made a base of ply and liquid nailed some gravel to it, my neighbour dry brushed the colour on to it. I'll be giving it to my old mate tomorrow, will get some pics of him with it, standing in front of his old dozer (the inspiration behind this madness).
cheers, billy.
ps, have started turning the wheels for a hotrod.

Thank you all, Im very pleased with it.
Had to have a sleep Friday after doing atmospheric monitoring job at Botany Thursday night so didnt get to hand over the dozer. Will be doing that some time this week.
Have been drawing up plans for the rod, chassis, steering, engine, body. Getting some ideas together, particularly getting advice re turning of wheels (see woodturning forum, "turning oregon" thread.)
I guess I should start a new thread here for the rod, or maybe on the scale model site as Im sort of working to scale, I think this is how it works...if a car wheel(rim) is 16 inches diameter (400mm) and I make a model rim that is 4 inches (100mm) diameter then the scale is 1/4. Is that right? Actually the wheel(rim plus tyre)that Im turning is 100mm overall,so what does that make it? 600mm divided by 100mm = 1/6th scale?
mmm, never was that good at mathes.
cheers, billy
