Wooden toy quad bike or ATV is made from recycled Spotted Gum, body [my builder friend gave me an old hardwood bearer],
Australian Red Cedar, sides [a friend gave me some offcuts of architraves out of the turn of the century home in Bathurst]
and Beech, wheels [thank you Chief Tiff].

With two coats of homemade Wipe-On-Poly mixture [30% Tung Oil, 40% Clear Satin Polyurethane, 30% Turps].

The pattern is based on the free plan from Tony on his website..

Default Correction on the timber in the body of the quad bike!

Correction on the timber in the body of the quad bike!

I just had my builder friend Ray drop in on his way home for a cuppa and chat.

I mentioned the timber question I'd asked about the old hardwood beam.

Well Ray did a close inspection along with smell test of the piece I'd cleaned up, with the resolution "IT'S TALLOWWOOD"
