Tipper Truck
Good news the workshop is back in use after it was pulled down and replaced with a new larger one. Seems like ages since I have made something as this has taken since May this year to get back again
First picture of old workshop and second of new one which has now been completely painted the rest a quick tour of the inside all ready for work

Anyway this is the first thing to be worked on since getting it back up and running. I will start gently as I normally do by spending the day preparing the wood
Wood thicknessed and some cut to width hopefully start to cut to correct size and start assembly soon

Very glad to see you finally have got into the new shed with a project in hand Derek....
Enjoy the time settling in, it's been a long time come with some difficult obstacles along the way.
Cheers, Peter

Thank you Keith and Peter. this will not be a fast build as I still have some decorating in the house to complete so will be building while the paint dries.
I am kind of working from a set of plans but as always things will be changed to suit what I want.
Yes Keith now that the workshop has everything back in there including the bandsaw which was housed elsewhere. and of course the new metal lathe and milling machine I can now just walk in and get on with whatever I want. And I have just ordered a set of plans for a live steam loco which I have always wanted to build

Managed a little time in the workshop after decorating and doing some pruning of a Monkey puzzle tree that was overhanging the public footpath at the front of the house.
Chassis cut to size with wheels roughly put in position
DSCF2084.jpg
Made a start on the bonnet and cab base so this is the first glue up it was nice to be able to use the bandsaw in the workshop instead of walking out to where it use to be

Hopefully more tomorrow

Again managed some time in the workshop this time quite a bit of time.
Started by making the wings. I spent a good 1/2 hour looking for my drum sanders to fit into the drill press that is the disadvantage of moving into a larger workshop is remembering where I put everything I am sure I will get a lot in places I can find them
DSCF2088.jpg
then onto bonnet which is made of two parts not yet glued together
DSCF2092.jpgDSCF2091.jpg
front and rear axles still need to drill holes to fix the wheels
DSCF2089.jpg
all the parts I have by the end of today
DSCF2087.jpg
Next on the list will be the rear swing arm for the twin wheels and the cab at least by then it will start to look a little like the chassis assembly of the truck

on today spent a good part gluing the lower cab assembly together
DSCF2093.jpg
While some of that was drying I cut and assembled the upper cab
DSCF2094.jpg
cut out the rear wheel swivel beams and also cut the fuel tanks and supports.

More progress today
Glued up the rest of the cab assembly just need to add some basic detail like lights, bumper and grill
DSCF2100.jpgDSCF2099.jpg
The rear wheel assembly arms drilled and the ends rounded also glued on the wheels I think I will add a rear bumper and some lights
DSCF2098.jpgDSCF2097.jpg
Just a picture of the parts and a dry fit to give an idea of what it will look like still needs some work on this part before going onto the rear tipper body assembly

Added some of the small detail bits and pieces today like the fuel tanks spacer and most important the wheels
DSCF2107.jpg
While waiting for the glue to set on those as it is taking a little longer to set due to being very cold at the moment ice on the bird bath.
I started to cut and also glue the tipper body should not be long before I see the completion of this one
