    Default Tow Truck

    Hi,

Tow Truck that I have made. Still to put the cable and hook on the spool. Any tops or suggestions very welcome. My boys love it. So you could say it is a success.

    That looks great Todd.
You've used the similar design for your prime mover; simple & strong.
The spool needs a handle each end to wind up the tow rope & hook.
Maybe a trailer connection for a "dog" which can be added later; after you've done the design & build, something similar to the prime mover trailer with the ramps.
This would also be towed behind a dump truck [tipper].
Keep up the good work Todd.
    Cheers, crowie

    Thanks Crowie,

You are always ready with tips to improve a design. It really helps us new toymakers improve out craft. When my boys (6 and 5) saw the towtruck they immediately said - "That's Mater!!" I tried to explain that Mater only worked with cars and this was for trucks they would not listen. I think I am outvoted.

Maybe go with the flow and add a couple of teeth onto the front of the radiator.....

PS - Don't give me too much credit as I'm just learning as well plus I'm very impatient toymaker....

Hi Todd your tow truck certainly is a success looks just great I see you’re using a wheel profile cutter that makes life a lot easier when building cars and trucks.
Do you buy your timber to make the toys or maybe you have a source at Charleville where you live.
Down here on the Central Coast there is a couple of frame and floor truss companies that I visit from time to time the pieces are small and I might have to laminate to get the piece’s I need but PVA glue in cheap enough.
Keep the projects coming and send in plenty of pictures
