If I may suggest that you support the exhaust stacks to help prevent mishaps.
Your little bloke is going to enjoy that truck for ever, make sure you date sign it.
It'll help him remember when dad made it for when he it passes down to his son.

Decided I’m not a painter. Swmbo said I had to paint it and not overly happy with the result but sure the young fella not going to notice. Would of preferred to varnish it or something but it will do for birthday present tomorrow ��F7996833-FAAB-40A0-BBD2-C28B8DAC9415.jpgnot sure what was wrong with picture either I only have a phone don’t have a computer .

He won't worry about the painting though as you said I too prefer a clear finish to show off the timber.

Now That's a genuine road train. Very nice.

I also prefer finish that show the wood used, but for a childs toy i can accept a paint job, as long as it is a water based paint that won't do any harm to the child.

That's brilliant, I love it, maybe the garden can provide some logs for the flat bed or you can make a trackscavator for it. and then some bandsaw animals for the pig pen at the back, as for the pics, i have an iphone so before I post, I open the photo, hit <edit> then crop ever so slightly and it will post the right way up. But i have now taken to taking the photo in one half of the screen so can crop either the top or bottom.

I too prefer the wood but the paint looks really good and will protect the truck for a life of play.

Maybe you should put this info somewhere on the forum that will be read by many (not sure where is the best) as there seem to be a lot of people who have trouble with photos doing unexpected things and most problems seem to stem from apple gadgets.

Nice job mate, lots of fun in that for your young bloke. You should be very proud of your effort.
