More Toy Garages....
More Toy Garages....
Yes another four and this time I did a bit of a production line, though it really didn't make the project any easier as space is always a premium in my shed....
I didn't bother with Work in Progress photos & notes as you've all seen my garage builds before, so just a few photos with a helper..
One is sold, wow, that's a biggy for me as they are normally just given away..
The rest will either go to the Car Boot Sale "Fund Raiser" for the local Boys & Girls Club who are sending a team of 20 to Helsinki in June 2015 for the World Gymnaestrada [Team Display Gymnastics].
Maybe one of my daughters will take one for a friend, too??
The 15 wooden block cars are also for for the Car Boot Sale....just 4x2 shaped, dressed, stained with 4 holesaw wheels.....
Cheers, crowie

Excellent work. They are really nice!
Do you paint them yourself?
I can't paint so all clear finish for me.

Great stuff Crowie REAL TOYS!
Good to see Handy though I think his put on a little weight.
You should probably get him working a little more often
And if you don't mind could you please mess your shed up a little.
You know tools all over the place, everything covered in dust that sort of thing.
It's just to much of a culture shock for me when I have to go and see what my work area looks like
Cheers
Trev.

Damn Trevor, The shed's always got too much sawdust everywhere as it's small and under the house with space a big issue...
I do try to keep the work area vacuumed clean as practical and in some resemblance of order though it's more than often just a MESS SHOP...
[This is a comment my darling wife would also agree upon.....the shed a mess]
Be kind to Handy, he's a great inspiration & does help were he can...
On the other hand, it's me who has put on a few pounds.
I need a bigger shed as well as shedding those extra pounds.....
Thank you for lighting up the conversation....I'm now smiling..
Cheers, crowie

Great job on the garages Crowie. Always good to see someone just happy to make an item and give it away. There is more enjoyment in that than trying to make something to someone's specifications because they are paying for it.
Keep up the good work and inspiration.Dallas

The garages look great Crowie. My 2 year old grandson would love them. When I get some time I am going to copy your work if that's OK. They will have to be filled with Fords though. I have made my grandson a Ford fanatic. His dad isn't too happy though as he has a Mitsubishi and a Suzuki. Joshua gives them the thumbs down !! Life is great.

G'Day Keith,
I'd be very happy to do a copy of the plan and WIP from when I did one with Bret in Texas onto a Data CD, then drop it in the post.
You'll also find a couple ot threads in toymakers showing the project build...
I'm doing one for my physio at present..
cheers, Peter

Fantastic
No toy store could compete with that!
Amazing amazing stuff! I really like the detail it has, any kid would love to have one of those, and unique too!

Thank you one and all...
I've finished one garage for a little bloke "Ryley"....
I'll finish a second for the Fund Raiser....
And making good progress on the "15 block cars"; rounded the edges of the cars with a Dremel Router attachment, made 60 wheels & drilled 30 axle holes....
Now it's 30 axles & glue the wheels in place with the addition of a flat washer, staining & clear lacquer....
Cheers, crowie
PS - Found a little friend in the garage [shed] on the brick wall....
